This was the second day of the weekend with the parents. My mom and I were quietly sitting in the living room (well not quietly actually, we were chatting away as usually), and Eugene came over with all his equipment and decided to have an impromptu photoshoot. This is what came out of it.

This weekend I was visiting my parents in Philadelphia again. The first item on our itinerary was stopping by Penn's Landing, which is a waterfront area of Philadelphia Center City along the Delaware River, to shoot some photographs. Eugene [my stepdad] just bought yet another flash that yet again was "better than anything else he has," and we just had to test it out. We were not complaining though - it is not that often these days that we get together and specifically go to beautiful, scenic places to have a little photoshoot.
The day was incredibly hot. Actually not as much hot as humid. It was supposed to rain but the rain took its time to begin, and we were left with the sticky, stuffy air around us. But that did not stop the progress, and we took our course to our selected destination. The process was as usually fun and entertaining - we ended up having an amazing time smiling, laughing, throwing snark remarks at each other for whose 'vision' of photography is best. As a result, we have a great library of beautiful photographs. Please see for yourself.

Great news - my favorite New York City event is back! Speakeasy Dollhouse: The Bloody Beginnings was previously cancelled until further notice due to some issues with the venue where it was held. After a few months of quiet, I finally received a notification in my email inbox that the show was recommencing at a new location. What great news! As soon as I saw the email, I went online and bought my tickets, convincing my roommate to come with me.
I was so happy to be able to dress up and immerse into my favorite event again! The new location was absolutely gorgeous. The event now takes place at an old bank in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and features three floors of rooms and hidden corners, a stage with an amazing Jazz band and burlesque performers (of course), and a bar with fancy cocktails. As usually, all events of the play take occurrence right around you and you get to participate in various scenes as the plot unfolds. I said it before and I'll say it again - this show truly is New York's best treasure!

Today was my last official vacation day. I still had the weekend before returning to work, but with respect to the days I actually requested off, today was it, the last one. My favorite thing to do on days off when I am in the city is just walking around in Manhattan. On the weekends, it is extremely crowded everywhere you go; on the weekdays, however, everyone is at work and the city is at its quietest. You get the luxury of exploring the city without the accompanying crowds of people.
As I got up in the morning, I went to the park for a quick run in an attempt to get back to my fitness routine, then I got ready and headed into the city. The plan was to meet up with my roommate for lunch. She works on Upper West Side, and there are a number of nice lunch places in that area. However, before we headed over to the lunch place, I asked her to take a few pictures of my outfit. So here it is - my combination of polka dotted top and striped shorts.
