Attempt to Catch Up

I was unfortunately unable to get anyone to take my pictures all of last week, but I still wanted to show some of my outfits. My solution – just do it at home! I know pictures from the outside always look more professional and interesting; however, desperate times call for desperate measures. I apologize for terrible quality and lighting, but the good news is – you get to see a sneak peek of my new NYC apartment!

Quiet Corner

I am very sorry about the boring venue for today's photos, but after a crazy, overwhelming day at work, the last thing on my mind was trying to take picture while dealing with a crowd of people in an after-work rush hour running right at you. Hence, this quiet corner right by Dean & Deluca in midtown, where no one was bothering us, nor was bothered by us.

Tangerine and White

So happy Monday's over! It was quite an uneventful day for me with a lot of angry callers and a quiet atmosphere in the office. Maybe the weekend heat (102 degrees on Saturday in NY) had something to do with it? In any case, at least I loved my outfit today - It think it's a perfect combination of polished and cute. Bright tangerine blouse adds a touch of summer fun, and white jackets never fails to bring sophistication to any outfit.

Family Time

I had a great day today - my parents came over for a day to see me and spend some time in New York. Despite limited time and hot weather, we still were able to have amazing time. I love when my parents come over - we always end up doing so much in so little time! Today, we installed a TV in my apartment, visited Fort Tryon Park, where we took some beautiful pictures, stopped by at the 9-story Macy's store in midtown Manhattan, bought me a pair of shoes at Macy's, walked around the city, tried some frozen yogurt (for the first time!), and had wonderful champagne dinner. I am a happy girl to have such amazing parents as mine! Love you, guys!

I did not take any pictures today (it was casual Friday, and I decided to take it easy today); however, I still have a few pending pics from my first week here, when my friend and I went out for dinner to our favorite sushi place Aoki in midtown (highly recommended! Cheap and amazingly tasty), and then went to my friend's band playing at the Lit Lounge. Here they are:

Happy Belated 4th of July!

I know, I know, I should've done this last night, but by the time I got home after the whole day of walking (literally!), I was not in a condition to post anything. Plus, better late than never, right?
It was very nice to have a "mini-weekend" in the middle of the week. My favorite part was turning my alarm off when it rang (I left it on purposefully) and just staying in bed till I woke up on my own (even though it still was at 7:30).
My friend and I spent majority of our day in Central Park, one of my favorite places in New York City. I never get tired of it! I feel like every time I go there, I run into something new - new lake, new statue, new meadow, etc.
The final destination of our day was DSW, where we shopped for shoes, third day in a row. We even missed the fireworks, that engaged in the process we got! Oh well, they say it's enough to see it once, so maybe next year I'll get to it.
Here are a few pics from our day-long journey:

Go Green

Wearing this bright green dress made me feel especially summer-y today. I love its cheery color, its free but fitted fit, and the fun way it moves when I walk and turn. I think with the right jacket, it's a great alternative to a structured business dress to wear to work.
